The Director of Operations & Performance will support the Chief Operating Officer in the delivery of delegated responsibilities to ensure that the operational management of clinical services are delivered safely, are based on evidence, meet the requirements of commissioners and, as a minimum, exceed the expectation of patients.
The post holder will provide leadership and have full managerial responsibility for an allocated clinical Division. He/she will be responsible for the delivery of operational and performance targets, the achievement of local and national standards, human resources, quality and governance targets, and budgetary control. The post-holder will work closely with the Divisional Medical Director and the Divisional Director of Nursing to ensure optimum performance, service integration, and contribute to the development of Trust services within the organisation and the local health economy.
Main duties of the job
1. Support the management of wards, diagnostic and other clinical services to maintain or expand existing market share.
2. Support clinical transformation to meet the QIPP agenda and ensure quality services meet commissioner and regulatory requirements.
3. Develop clinical services in line with the Trust's strategic direction and commissioner requirements.
4. Manage a range of clinically led groups including medical, nursing, midwifery, and AHP staff within the Trust.
5. Liaise with commissioners regarding local planning strategies to meet national, regional, or local priorities.
6. Support the development of Trust-wide strategies.
7. Implement and operate corporate and management information systems effectively.
8. Develop partnerships and integrated arrangements with other providers to ensure sustainable service provision.
9. Manage wards, diagnostic and clinical departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
10. Lead on specific delegated tasks ensuring services are productive, efficient, and affordable.
11. Translate contracts with commissioners into capacity plans balancing demand and capacity.
12. Establish monitoring/audit mechanisms for performance standards.
13. Support the Chief Operating Officer in developing the Trust's business opportunities.
14. Develop partnerships with organizations that complement the Trust's expertise.
15. Lead specific work streams for clinical transformation, service re-engineering, and pathway development.
16. Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care quality.
17. Deputize for the Chief Operating Officer at stakeholder events and Trust Board meetings.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a management or clinical professional subject.
* Education to Masters/Fellowship level or relevant equivalent experience.
* Evidence of recent professional and personal career development.

Salary: £105,385 to £121,271 per annum, pro rata.
