Essex County Council (ECC) is delighted to support Castle Point Borough Council in recruiting a Fitness Instructor on a part-time, permanent basis.
*This role will consist of two shifts per week, Monday's 05:30am-11:15am & Friday's 08:45am-14:45pm at Waterside Leisure Centre*

The Opportunity
To support individuals in achieving their health and fitness goals by providing guidance, motivation, and structured exercise programs. Promote physical well-being by encouraging healthy lifestyle habits and ensuring the safe and effective use of fitness equipment.
Tailor exercise plans to suit clients' fitness levels, goals, and needs, and provide clear instructions and demonstrations for proper technique and form.
Inspire individuals to maintain regular exercise routines and educate clients on the benefits of physical activity and healthy living while ensuring amazing customer interaction and retention.
Accountabilities
* Carry out regular personal training sessions weekly, maintaining high service and professional manner.
* Act in a professional manner promoting Castle Point Borough Council positively in line with its policies and culture.
* Demonstrate the correct way to use exercise equipment and give advice and encouragement.
* Monitor the misuse of equipment and rectify customer faults.
* Work with customers to develop personal exercise and diet plans to assist clients in attaining their weight loss or healthy lifestyle goals and fitness targets.
* Maintain and update client records.
* Undertake the reception function within the Fitness suite, including payments over the phone, bookings, and control and monitoring of entry to the centre.
* Undertake classes consistent with relevant qualifications held.
* Work at any of the Council's Leisure facilities as required.
* Deliver Personal Training sessions to the standard set by the Health and Fitness Manager.
* Hit monthly targets set by the Health and Fitness Manager.
* Deliver personal training sessions outside of working hours and keep a weekly log of sessions delivered.
* Maintain safe practice while delivering personal training, ensuring confidence in delivering sessions or referring as necessary.
* Respect customer and client needs and maintain confidentiality.
The Experience You Will Bring
* Experience working in a gym environment or leisure industry.
* Ability to demonstrate Health and Safety knowledge and experience.
* Customer care experience and knowledge.
