Job Description
The Digital Engineer will be responsible for the MEP Co-ordination, BIM and Digital Construction of a project. To aid the Project Team so they receive the support, drawings, and model required to deliver a successful project in line with the BIM Execution Plan.
First hand experience in a fast-paced MEP construction environment is essential as is an understanding of relevant procedures and standards. They will have at least 3 years' experience working as a Digital Engineer/Co-ordinator or 4 years as a Trainee/Apprentice Digital Engineer.
They will also be expected to have proven experience in the relevant software. Higher education to ONC/HNC level in a relevant engineering field is preferred but not essential.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Delivering stage 5 co-ordinated MEP models from stage 4 designs.
2. Detailing MEP service modules for manufacture.
3. Delivering individual service drawings for installation purposes.
4. Revising drawings to include client instructions.
5. Uploading drawings to a common data environment.
6. Dealing with site queries relating to drawings/models.
7. Inputting of COBie data into the model environment. Revising models and drawings to as-built status.
8. Creating Revit families for selected equipment.
9. Attend and run coordination meetings with the relevant team members.
10. Attend the clients BIM/Digital Asset meetings as Imtech's representative.
11. Any other tasks as required by the Digital Engineering Lead.
Skills and Experience
1. At least 4 years Revit experience in MEP co-ordination is essential.
2. A good understanding of MEP systems and how they are installed.
3. Very good knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection & model checking.
4. Good understanding of IS019650 Delivery.
5. Able to assist in pre-sales and sales meetings if required.
6. 4D experience is preferred but not essential.
7. 5D experience is preferred but not essential.
8. Supporting the implementation of BIM standards, documentation, processes, and protocols for a variety of customers and projects.
