Recruitment and Retention Allowance: £5,720 per annum
This is a Full-time position based in office, flexible working patterns available.
Are you looking for a role that provides interesting and diverse IT infrastructure and facilities evolution and development challenges?
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for HMGCC, you will join a diverse, highly motivated team, delivering impact in direct support of the security mission. With responsibility for all technical aspects, you will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers performing complex system evaluations for both bespoke and commercial products and solutions, using the latest tools and technologies.
You will work closely with our security partners as you develop unique and bespoke infrastructure to deliver quality infrastructure solutions that help to keep the country safe.
You will be an already established expert in your field, skilled in multiple disciplines, and have proven experience in the design, development and support of infrastructure systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver medium to long term strategies for product development.
2. Define guidelines for the engineering community and establish ways of working for your engineering team.
3. Work in diverse technology disciplines such as Software, Infrastructure, Penetration Testing and communication techniques.
4. Engage with departments outside of the infrastructure team to achieve shared objectives.
Technical Skills:
1. Demonstrable experience of leading infrastructure teams, fostering collaboration, making strategic decisions, and taking responsibility for a range of different platforms and systems.
2. Proven experience with the design and implementation of enterprise infrastructure.
3. Significant depth and breadth of technical services and solutions, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Windows server administration, Linux system administration.
4. Proven experience of maintaining infrastructure systems, equipment, networks and services.
5. Knowledge of one of the following areas is beneficial: Practical experience of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certified, practical experience of scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash), knowledge of RF Mast architecture.
6. A qualification to Degree level or equivalent in electronics or communication.
