Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Paralegals to work on a large-scale case within the Business Crime Department. This matter involves large volumes of documentation, so the individual must be highly organised, conscientious, and confident in coping with challenging deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex and detailed document management, document review platforms, and disclosure exercises.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organising and managing large volumes of documents, including both historical records and newly received materials. Maintaining and updating spreadsheets.
2. Working with digital document review platforms.
3. Reviewing and analysing case materials.
4. Preparing summaries of case materials.
5. Attending client meetings, court hearings, and conference calls to take detailed notes.
6. Drafting memos, correspondence, and other documents as required.
7. Creating hard copy bundles and liaising directly with Counsel.
8. Conducting legal research and providing general administrative support where necessary.
Skills and Attributes:
1. A strong academic background, including a law degree (or equivalent GDL) and completion of the LPC or BPTC.
2. At least 12 months of paralegal experience, ideally within a contentious or criminal litigation environment. Familiarity with eDisclosure platforms such as Relativity.
3. A genuine interest in criminal law coupled with a strong work ethic.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
6. Experience working with legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, and Practical Law.
7. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
8. Outstanding organisational skills with the capacity to manage shifting priorities effectively and high attention to detail.
9. A proactive, positive approach to tasks.
