As a Field Service Engineer, it will be your responsibility to represent Howden worldwide and collaborate with our diverse pool of clients to provide technical assistance during: overhaul, repair, maintenance, fault finding and installation and commissioning of steam turbines, reciprocating gas compressors and gearboxes. You will also provide a full engineering service support for our customers and develop and manage exceptional customer relationships through excellence in terms of technical capability and also through personal interaction with customers. This is an international role and will require you to travel.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
* Overhaul, repair, maintain Howden steam turbines and gas compressors and gearboxes.
* Deliver a very high technical and professional level of service to our customers, with significant focus on safety and quality.
* Aim to achieve on time in full, to schedule and right first time.
* Provide detailed Site Reports to the required standard that highlight actions which may need to be taken and seek opportunities for improvement.
* Supervise the activities of Company or Customer supplied Technicians, be responsible for their day-to-day safety requirements, site activities and discipline. Follow health and safety at work procedures and complete required Risk Assessments.
Your Professional Experience Should Be…
* Knowledge of site maintenance and repair of Steam Turbines and Reciprocating Compressors.
* Develop and manage good customer relationships through the provision of professional customer management.
* Demonstrable experience and a strong focus on health and safety.
* Ability to supervise others at site during complex installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
* Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual.
* Experience working on international assignments including where English is not the main language.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office products and able to produce detailed written technical documents including but not limited to risk assessments, site reports, root cause analysis of failures, method statements, scopes of work and project plans.
* Desirable skills, knowledge and behaviours:
* Knowledge of site installation and commissioning of Steam Turbines.
* Knowledge of site installation and commissioning of Reciprocating Compressors.
* Knowledge of site maintenance and repair of Gearboxes.
* Previous experience working offshore.
