North Cumbria Community Treatment Team is delighted to be recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic clinician with suitable leadership and experience, who is motivated to join the collective leadership team in this innovative post.
The successful candidate will work directly into Community Treatment Team, covering both East and West of the North Cumbria area, providing clinical leadership, supervision and training to members of the team. You will work with the local collective leadership and CBU leadership team driving forward trust, locality and CBU objectives and service developments.
Main Duties of the Job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will contribute to the strategic direction for the development of nursing practice within the North Cumbria CBU. They will take the lead in extending boundaries and creating frameworks for the enhancement of nursing within their specialty.
The post holder will continue to strive towards excellence in nursing care and communicate this excellence to colleagues both within the organisation and externally. The post holder will work with the Nurse Consultant on nursing developments within this specialist area of practice.
Key Functions
1. Offer 'specialist practice' within the service for up to 80% of the post.
2. Provide professional leadership and advice, including clinical supervision.
3. Participate in service development of staff, and a range of other agencies, statutory and non-statutory in conjunction with the Nurse Consultant and Clinical Manager.
4. Undertake audit and related activities in aspects of clinical practice, therapeutic intervention and service evaluation involving service users and their families.
5. Contribute to the strategic development of the nursing strategy for CNTW.

Job Responsibilities
The post is intended to enhance the clinical expertise available within the service as we continue to develop the service in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
The successful candidate will work with the service's collective leadership team and wider partners to support the strategic development of the Community Treatment Team and Community Transformation plans within the North Cumbria locality.
They will also work directly with service users and the clinical team to provide high-quality care, clinical leadership, supervision and training to influence positive outcomes for people in crisis. Interested candidates should have specialist clinical knowledge and experience of working with adults experiencing mental health difficulties and be confident in their ability to lead and manage highly complex cases within a dynamic clinical environment.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD
* Postgraduate qualification/Recognized teaching qualification/Evidence of continuous professional development
* Evidence of experience in therapeutic interventions relevant to working with enduring mental health problems/Advance level therapeutic training (in one area or more)
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working within areas relevant to designated team.
* Experience in service development changes.
* Awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda/implications for nursing.
