Job Details: Job Summary: As the Controller, Regional this role is responsible for the region’s pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting policies and regulations, and driving the financial close processes. This role will direct the decision making, process improvement, and policy implementation for the region with compliant with that area’s generally accepted accounting principles. Revenue recognition will be a major focus and constant interaction will be required between operations, segment financial management and corporate accounting. Incumbents in this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority with potential significant impact to the organization. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Directs the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statement close process. Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the regional monthly Income Statement, Operating Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement. Designs and implements improvements in processes and documentation regarding the financial statement close process, reducing the time it takes to complete the monthly close. Review balance sheet account reconciliations for completeness, accuracy and resolution of reconciling items. Provide quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis in order to gain insight into changes in the business and to ensure accuracy of the financial statements. Provides support as the Company integrates new business systems. Ensures that regional financial management systems and financial policy framework are supported by internal financial standards and internal controls that conform with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. Provides leadership and supervises the activities of regional manage and accountant. Work with the Hyderabad India Accounting and Shared Services teams to ensure that they provide full support for the regional financial requirements. Responsible for training and developing staff to improve individual and organizational performance. Leads and provides direction around aspects of the monthly close process (i.e. Monthly Journal Vouchers, sales accruals input, and coordination of close schedule with other departments). Works with the Corporate Revenue Recognition and Technical Accounting team to provide revenue recognition and accounting guidance Works with various corporate departments (Accounts Receivable, Revenue Recognition, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting) to complete monthly closing and ensure financial data is accurate. Interacts with various departments including engineering, program management, contracts, scheduling, and other field offices. Assists in both internal and external audits as needed. Responsible for the implementation of any identified improvements. Provides support as needed in any due diligence efforts for new acquisitions along with integration support responsibilities once an acquisition is completed Provide support as needed in any due diligence efforts for any divestitures along with support required under any transition support agreements. Minimum Job Requirements: Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or substantial experience gained from a similar role. Qualification in accounting – ACA/ACCA/CIMA ideally with at least 5 years PQE. Skills/Experience/Knowledge Extensive experience in financial and project accounting, preferably in a large organization. Experience with creating financial statements (including consolidated statutory accounts) and the month-end/year end close process. Thorough knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS and US GAAP), financial principles and control procedures. Experience in leading year end audit processes. Must be self-motivated, pragmatic and able to work independently, diligent, with attention to detail. Experience in managing a team with the ability to motivate others to achieve individual and shared goals. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with willingness to share knowledge, coach and collaborate effectively with individuals and cross functional departments. Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to multi-task and ruthlessly prioritise.
