Salary: £14.30 per hour plus min wage for sleep shifts
Contract: Part time, 20 hours per week plus sleeps
Shift pattern: On a rolling 6 weekly baseline rota including weekdays, weekends, evenings and sleeps
We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Ramsbottom. This is a rewarding opportunity to be a part of our client's rehabilitation journey and support our client to achieve as much independence as possible. You will be working closely within a team helping to ensure that a continuity of care is provided to our clients.
About The Role
Your role will be dedicated to supporting a 48-year-old gentleman with an acquired brain injury. Your primary focus will be on building a professional, working relationship and supporting him with his rehabilitation plan, daily activities, and social and leisure pursuits, both at home and in the community. You will also assist with therapy programs set by his multidisciplinary team (MDT).
As part of the role, you will supervise and support him in taking his medication safely, ensuring MAR charts are signed. While no personal care is currently required, you will need to be prepared for this to change if his needs evolve. Prompting him with routines such as taking rest breaks, changing clothes, etc.
During the day, you will work as part of a 2:1 team when out in the community, providing support to ensure his safety and wellbeing. In the evenings or when staying at the rehabilitation property, you will support him on a 1:1 basis.
He enjoys a wide range of activities, including Nordic walking, volunteering in nature preservation, playing board games like Scrabble and Backgammon. He also likes to spend time in local coffee shops and is a fan of Star Wars and Bolton Wanderers. The gentleman is a family-oriented individual who values his time with loved ones.
A baseline rota will be provided on a 6-weekly basis, but flexibility is essential.
Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.

About You
* Experience of working in a support role, both in the community and the home.
* Friendly, approachable and confident in the role.
* Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex and challenging behaviour.
* Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the client.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent recognised health profession qualification.
* Full driving licence with access to own car.
* Experience working with acquired brain injury.
* Previously worked with therapists to deliver a support plan.
* Registered on DBS update service.
