Trainee Assistant Practitioners (TAP) – Podiatric Surgery – Mexborough Montagu Hospital
Band 3 rising to Band 4 after completion of a pre-induction period and 27 months of the higher apprenticeship TAP programme (apprenticeship commences in Sept 2025).
Monday to Friday – 30 hour pro rata posts available for the duration of the TAP programme of study, with a substantive post available on successful completion of study.

You must have a minimum of 1 year clinical experience of working in an acute hospital or community health and social care setting in a clinical role (refer to job specification for area specific entry criteria).
Have functional skills level 2 English and Maths or GCSE equivalent as a minimum and have completed or are willing to complete prior to commencement of the apprenticeship.Care Certificate
You will be expected to undertake the level 5 Assistant Practitioner Higher Apprenticeship incorporating the Foundation Degree with Sheffield College attending Sheffield College a minimum of 1 day per week for 27 months and pass all relevant assessments (exams, assignments and portfolios) as well as completing a range of generic and local competencies. Holidays will need to be taken around the commitments of the programme so you can meet all of the academic requirements.
You need to be very motivated, and able to demonstrate good written, verbal and IT skills, with the ability to communicate with all members of the health care team. Putting the patient first must be your priority and a track record of providing high quality care is essential.
Successful candidates will be offered a position in the following areas:
Podiatric Surgery at Mexborough Montagu Hospital. All candidates must be able to work across all DBTH sites. Candidates are required to remain working at the DBTH for a minimum 18 months on completion of the training programme.
