JOB TITLE - YOUTH WORKER CO-ORDINATOR
LOCATION - NEWHAM
RESPONSIBLE TO – OPERATIONS MANAGER
HOURS PER WEEK – 36 (Full time)
SALARY - £26,278 - £28,155 pa (depending upon experience and qualifications)
Job Summary:
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination of youth services in line with REIN’s Policies and Procedures.
Purpose of the Job:
1. To support young people, particularly those who are vulnerable and in targeted localities of need, by providing high quality informal education preventative and early intervention opportunities to achieve their personal and social development.
2. To enable young people to make informed decisions, have a place in their community and, ultimately, to reach their potential and make a successful transition to adulthood.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
3. To work with young people delivering group and individual youth work during the daytime, in the evenings and on residential’s, using a planned youth work curriculum programme.
4. Initiate, plan, deliver and evaluate informal education opportunities to develop young people’s personal and social skills, which result in recordable outcomes in line with the Service priorities and contract targets.
5. Line and performance manage unqualified and trainee youth support workers and volunteers, to plan, deliver and evaluate youth work, with groups and individuals.
6. Work in partnership with other organisations and other relevant agencies to enhance the offer to young people, as directed by the youth work manager.
7. Establish contact and develop relationships with young people through a variety of youth work styles and settings and ensure that staff you manage do the same.
8. Provide individual support to identified young people, recording the impact of your work and the outcomes achieved.
9. Ensure that effective needs analysis, including any relevant assessments, are completed and acted on so that the needs of young people are identified and met.
10. Monitor, evaluate and record youth work practice using the relevant systems and the evaluation and planning process. This includes providing written reports on the progress of specific areas of work.
11. Lead on session briefings, de-briefings, evaluations and recordings.
12. Assist in the organisation of staff meetings and engage in meetings, forums and events as required.
13. Ensure that all delivery that you are responsible for complies with all health and safety and safeguarding requirements.
14. Ensure the implementation of all of REIN’s policies and procedures.
15. Ensure that comprehensive and quality supervision and Performance Management and Development Scheme processes are systematically provided for staff who you may supervise.
16. Ensure that you and the staff you manage attend regular supervision and any required Performance Management meetings and complete required initial and ongoing training.
