Role description: As an Assistant Planner / Junior Planner, you will receive comprehensive training from a Senior Planner, gaining expertise in all aspects of planning and project controls. You will collaborate closely with a wider team, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment. This role is office-based in either Manchester, Warrington, Birmingham or Newcastle Upon Tyne, with an expectation of three days per week dedicated to in-office collaboration. Arcadis is committed to providing you with the necessary training and skill development to excel in this position. You will be supported by a team of Planners / Senior planners to develop your skills in planning and scheduling. Key tasks will include, schedule development, from initial high-level activity networks to structured, and detailed working schedules – covering full project lifecycles. Similarly providing assurance of third-party project schedules to ensure compliance and fitness for purpose. Role accountabilities: Establish approved baseline schedules and implement schedule performance monitoring and reporting, with controlled change management and clear communication to teams, clients and stakeholders of progress status and remaining works. Provide valued and focused insight on schedule performance, going beyond checks and calculations, to ensure the project teams know and understand what they need to, are equipped to make informed decisions and are aware of any schedule risks and opportunities. Take a pro-active approach to cross-discipline engagement and collaboration to identify and resolve issues and facilitate team success. Engage with internal and client stakeholders at a working and management level to develop positive relationships and provide relevant, concise information. Manage the schedule change control process, recording change history for audit purposes and all relevant business authorisations. Awareness of, and adherence to contractual procedures relating to contract schedules (i.e. NEC 3 and 4 Accepted Programme) and delays. Active participation and contribution to communities and initiatives across the project and programme management service line and the wider Arcadis business. Qualifications & Experience: Educated to degree level/HND, or equivalent experience. Ability to work on tasks unsupervised whilst applying sound judgement to effectively collaborate and communicate with others. Confidence and acumen when speaking to project teams, clients and stakeholders. Ability to facilitate discussions between different disciplines, teams and parties. Understanding and experience of the principles of project / programme management, design, engineering and construction (desirable but not essential) Strong IT Skills, with respect to Excel and Office 365.
