Professional Trainee - Part 1 Architectural Assistant (Fixed Term for 1 Year) - PKC12539

We are offering a 1-year fixed term placement to a validated Part 1 degree holder, to join the design/delivery Team as an Architectural Assistant to work alongside other architectural and construction professionals in our multi-disciplinary office based in the City of Perth.
\n
A key aspect of the role is the production of technical drawings and specifications to attain low carbon design and, based on Project criteria/assessment, Passivhaus accredited certification.
\n
Through our Framework of Learning and supported by a dedicated Mentor you will have the opportunity to see and experience the varied Stages of a Project.
\n
This will involve survey work, design work and feasibility studies, preparing design/technical drawings and specifications, including contract administration, reporting, site visits and attending client, design team and technical meetings in a collaborative environment.
\n
You will acquire insight into how design and technical drawings translate into physical structures, appreciate the significance of effective communication, discussions, and decision-making in response to changes, and recognise the importance of effective software skills for maintaining organised production information.
\n

The Project Delivery Team have an office base in the centre of Perth, which we share with our Property Services colleagues.
\n
Staff can work in a hybrid manner from a variety of locations with a requirement to work from our office a minimum 2 days a week, but we strongly recommend and encourage you to make the office your predominant work base to fully exploit the learning opportunities on offer through this placement.

Skills & Experience Required
You must be educated to degree level; validated Part 1 degree holder.
\n
You will have the confidence, skills and qualification to assist the Architect/Contract Administrator in the development, delivery and management of a range of Projects, of varying scope and complexity, throughout RIBA Stages 1-7.
\n
To take advantage of this exceptional opportunity, working in one of Scotland’s leading Local Authorities, you must hold a validated Part 1 degree and possess the right attitudes and attributes to make a valued contribution to the Team and our work.
\n
Ideally, you will have a developing knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit, and an understanding of low carbon design and Passivhaus design/delivery principles.
\n
It is expected that you will be a competent designer with the skills to express yourself with confidence, clarity and precision, using effective graphic, written and oral presentation techniques.
\n
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
