Key Responsibilities:
* Manage cost estimates, financial forecasts, and budget management for residential and historic projects.
* Oversee contract administration and procurement processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact on project costs and timelines.
* Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on project progress and budget.
* Mentor junior surveyors and team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Prepare and present detailed cost reports and forecasts to clients and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with architects and design teams to provide cost-effective solutions during the pre-construction phase.
* Manage variations and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and assessment of impacts.
* Ensure that all project deliverables meet the company’s quality standards and adhere to relevant regulations and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
* 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, focusing on high-end / Super Prime Residential and historic building projects.
* MRICS is desirable but not essential; we are particularly interested in your ability to thrive in a demanding but rewarding environment.
* Experience with NRM2 form of measurement and conversant with JCT forms of contract.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven negotiating skills and a solid knowledge of quantity surveying methods and techniques.
* Excellent analytical skills, with an eye for detail and aptitude for maths; good computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
* A team player who contributes positively to the business and its growth.
* Capable of working independently with guidance from heads of department and directors, depending on experience.
Work Environment:
There will be a blend of virtual meetings, site visits, and time in our offices located in Maidstone and London.
