Job Purpose: Responsible for: Performing in-house equipment calibrations, producing accurate calibration data, assisting in the maintenance of the Division’s accreditation to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and UKAS and customer requirements. Location: The job role is based at the company’s laboratory in Colnbrook, Heathrow, though regular work and travel will be required at the company’s other Southern laboratory locations as required. Particularly during the successful candidate's training period. Occasional overnight lodge may be necessary when required. Competence: A self-motivated individual able to work independently and to complete schedules on time. Attributes include attention to detail and acceptance of responsibility to complete tasks. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems such as Excel, Access and Word would be advantageous as would previous experience of working within a technical environment. Key Objectives/Responsibilities; To assist in the development of the Company Management Systems. To liaise with the Regional Quality Manager, Regional quality supervisor, other QA Technicians and regional operational management in matters relating to quality. To carry out allocated work in accordance with documented in house procedures, in an expeditious manner. To integrate into the quality assurance team and maintain a strong harmony and morale throughout the HSEQ department and the company laboratories. Main Duties: To perform scheduled equipment calibrations at the Heathrow laboratory following the documented procedures, standards and specifications ensuring that calibrations are carried out when scheduled and equipment is maintained, to a programme set by the Regional Quality Manager, in compliance with UKAS and Company requirements. To work at other South region laboratories, completing equipment calibrations and updating schedules as required by the Regional Quality Manager. To work in accordance with the Company’s health and safety and environmental procedures to ensure that the laboratory(s) is a safe, clean and tidy environment in which to work. A willingness to learn and develop in understanding quality management systems Main Tasks: To be responsible for the calibration, checking and control of equipment, and maintenance of consumable materials (both internal and external). To ensure that records relating to equipment calibrations and checks are maintained throughout the division. To action all calibration requests from the Regional Quality Manager. To coordinate with the other laboratories and site labs regarding monthly site visits to complete the calibration schedule. To conduct van audits of the operations technicians and report to the Regional Quality Manager regarding results.
