Role Summary
We are seeking a Junior Designer to join our Accessories design team at our head office in Havant. Working closely with the buyer and under the guidance of the Senior Designer, you will produce products that reflect the key trends of the season, shape our range for customers, while aligning with our brand DNA and ethos.
Role Responsibilities
* Research, interpret, and design our printed soft and cold weather accessories ranges for Women and Men.
* Drive innovation, stay updated on current and future trends, and share ideas and inspirations with the team.
* Create high-quality design packs to achieve first samples within critical timelines.
* Conduct market research to identify latest trends and maintain strong commercial awareness of competitors.
* Review and refine the range with your buyer, maximizing on best sellers and identifying missed opportunities.
* Design and develop ranges based on sales and trend data.
* Produce CAD work, including design packs, artwork, graphics, and prints.
* Liaise with suppliers regarding product details and fabrics.
* Present ranges seasonally, articulating your product vision and trend insights.
* Support Senior Designer with research and theme development for presentations.
Skills and Experience
* Degree or equivalent in a fashion-related subject.
* 3+ years experience as an Assistant or Junior Designer.
* Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with external parties and senior management.
* Good research skills and workload organization.
Role Competencies
* Strong trend awareness and understanding of the FatFace brand.
* Organized, proactive, and able to prioritize tasks.
* Excellent knowledge of fabrics, yarns, stitches, and trims with an eye for detail.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
* Ability to translate paper designs into 3D concepts.
* Understanding of factory processes and effective communication with suppliers.
* Creative vision aligned with the Fat Face brand.
* Deep understanding of customer profiles, product ranges, and competitors.
* Knowledge of market trends and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
