Your Role as SENCO: Lead and manage the school’s SEN provision, ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs receive the appropriate support and interventions. Work closely with the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) to develop and implement the school’s SEN strategy, ensuring it aligns with the school’s overall ethos and vision. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) for students. Support teachers and staff in creating individualised learning plans for students with SEN, ensuring differentiated teaching approaches are used. Lead on the assessment and monitoring of student progress, using data to inform decision-making and interventions. Provide training and support to staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of students with SEN. Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support. Ensure the school’s SEN policies are effectively implemented and reviewed regularly. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National SENCO Award (or working towards it). ✅ Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role within an educational setting. ✅ A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCPs, and effective SEN provision strategies. ✅ Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills. ✅ A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to SEN leadership. ✅ Strong organisational and data analysis skills to track student progress and interventions. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
