Our client is a leading packaging company who produce a range of high-end packaging for a wide variety of market sectors including confectionery, food, beverage, cosmetics, childcare and healthcare markets.
They have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Engineer to join their team. You will be proactive and seeking engineering improvement tasks around the site. Be electrically bias, but also work as a Hybrid Engineer, displaying mechanical skills. The company aims to prevent, predict, last resort react to machine breakdowns.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide engineering support to the department regarding both Breakdowns, PPM and TPM
2. Responsible for identifying necessary parts and equipment required for repairs and improvements
3. Carry out both electrical and mechanical installations within skill set
4. Make rational and informed decisions with regard to breakdown solutions and completion of individual projects
5. Carry out Electrical and Mechanical repairs within scope of ability and requirements
6. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to an agree standard
7. Ensuring safe working always and carry out reactive and preventative maintenance
8. Ensure site assets are maintained to a high standard, meet site requirements
9. Achieve the engineering standards across the site by providing support and expertise
10. To perform on relevant engineering KPIs
11. Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake properly risk assessed
12. Ensure parts are booked out correctly to help control stock levels in stores
13. Ability to work effectively as a team not only with engineering team but with production
Requirements:
14. Familiar with current Legislation and European Directives as applicable to this role
15. Self-motivated and calm under pressure with a logical approach to problem solving
16. Flexible attitude to working schedules and has thorough attention to detail in doing tasks
17. Experience within a Production or Service environment - preferably Print or FMCG
18. Demonstrable Electrical/Mechanical installation experience
19. Capable of using PLC I/O as a diagnostic tool
20. Good Team player but capable of working on your own initiative
