Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an MRP Controller to manage current and future manufacturing schedules, oversee logistics management activities, and ensure timely fulfilment of customer programs at the Stevenage site.
In this role as an MRP Controller, the successful candidate would also report to a senior member of the Manufacturing Planning & Control team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the management and co-ordination of all planning related activities to deliver the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) to time, cost, and quality.
* Co-ordinate and execute all activities related to the planning and procurement of materials, ensuring the timely and adequate supply of materials for manufacturing output.
* Release, manage and schedule all work in the MRP system, ensuring delivery forecasts are maintained and communicated to customers.
* Ensure efficient material inventories in line with inventory targets, minimising excess waste and costs, and maintain MRP system accuracy through regular stock checks.
* Work closely with the Supply Planner to communicate potential plan changes and resolve supply chain constraints.
* Identify risks related to supplied parts for escalation within the sales and ops process.
* Collaborate with Goods Receiving, stores, and despatch (Logistic Services) to manage inventory levels and ensure MRP system accuracy.
* Support effective non-conformance management controls.
* Maintain the manufacturing bill of materials and ensure master data is up to date.
* Support the achievement of schedule adherence, inventory, and delivery KPIs through effective planning execution.
What do you need?:
* Experience in Manufacturing planning, Supply chain management, or a related field.
* APIC supply chain certification is desirable but optional.
* Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and MRP systems.
* Strong planning and organising skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to analyse and solve problems with attention to detail.
* Previous experience in logistics and production planning is an advantage.
* Knowledge of Kanban and two-bin systems.
