As Team Manager, you'll support the Operations Manager role in providing the site and its customers with excellent service by taking ownership and responsibility for the shared warehouse duties on allocated shifts, and team-wide accountability for specifically delegated roles.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop and motivate direct reports to deliver or exceed objectives and KPIs, including accuracy targets, while identifying and developing future potential in line with business needs.
* Daily, weekly, and periodically collate, monitor, and analyse KPI and operational data, making operational adjustments as necessary to achieve overall performance targets and identify improvement opportunities.
* Organise resources (e.g., rotas and holidays), delegate tasks, and manage day-to-day resource issues (sickness, disciplinary, recruitment, etc.) to ensure adequate resourcing and performance levels are maintained for smooth site operations and service requirements.
* Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and key information, enhancing operational performance and proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues.
* Ensure compliance with company, legal, and Health and Safety procedures/checks, acting on issues to maintain a safe and legally compliant environment at all times.
* Deputise for the manager in their absence, taking accountability for their responsibilities to ensure the department continues to provide a smooth and efficient distribution service for its customers.
Key Skills/Experience
* Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced Distribution Centre environment.
* Proven track record of managing a team of 10-30 colleagues.
* Computer literacy with experience using warehouse systems.
* Numerate and literate.
* A keen team player passionate about people and work-based performance.
* People management experience, valuing, training, and developing a team to grow capability and achieve results.
* Performance management experience, including KPIs, return to work interviews, and conducting development/performance reviews.
* Ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels within the organisation.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, possessing a Health and Safety qualification/certificate.

* Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, as Halfords distribution operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
