Position: Interim Head of Residential Conveyancing/Partner Location: Central Lancashire Job Type: Permanent, Full-time About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Property/Conveyancing Solicitor to join a Residential Conveyancing Team as the Interim Head of Department. This role offers the chance to lead and develop the team on an interim basis, with a permanent opportunity available within the team. You will be passionate about property law, a team player, and eager to develop your skills and knowledge in a leading role. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice and representation on complex, high-value, and sensitive residential sales/purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, lease creation and voluntary first registration work Oversee large cases or projects, ensuring efficient completion within deadlines and to the highest professional standards Guide strategic decision-making on case management, legal risks and outcomes Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted legal advisor Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the client base, develop new service offerings and expand into emerging legal markets Promote cross-selling, referrals and introduction opportunities Represent the firm at networking events, industry conferences and client presentations Lead pitch processes and tenders for new business Manage a team of associates, senior associates and support staff, providing oversight and feedback Coach and mentor the team, fostering professional growth and development Conduct performance reviews, set performance goals and assist with career progression planning Contribute to strategic decisions, firm policies and operational efficiencies Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to profitability, billable hours and client satisfaction Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations Mitigate risks by implementing best practices in client care, file management and due diligence Maintain high standards of ethics, confidentiality and professional conduct Recruit, develop and manage a high-performing team Skills and Experience Required: Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) Extensive experience and expert knowledge of the Real Estate/Property sector Previous experience supervising other advisors, from Solicitors to Paralegals Experience advising on complex and high net worth Residential Property matters Proven experience handling large projects and business development activities.
