Job Overview Part time - 3 x days per week Immediate Start We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker/chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a keen interest in food preparation and production. As a Baker/chef, you will be responsible for creating a variety of baked goods, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and food safety. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is perfect for someone wanting to work up to ownership of the coffee shop. The right candidate will have full control over the menu and kitchen in an open plan design that allows you to work alongside the floor staff and meet and speak to customers. This is a small coffee shop with the ethos on home made hospitality and warmth. Responsibilities Prepare and bake a wide range of products including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, breakfast and lunch dishes. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency and quality in all baked items. Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations. Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies and ordering ingredients as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the bakery's offerings. Requirements Proven experience in a culinary or baking role within a restaurant or bakery setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation, production techniques, and food safety standards. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
