Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Holywell Primary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils by supporting their education and well-being in a friendly and inclusive environment. About the Role: This is a term time roleincluding 5 INSET days, working from 8.30 - 3.00 with half an hour for lunch. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support both individual and small groups of pupils, ensuring they remain engaged, confident, and supported in their learning. Your key responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the classroom under the supervision of the teacher - Supporting pupils in understanding instructions and fostering independent learning - Helping with behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment - Encouraging social and emotional well-being, reporting concerns when necessary - Preparing classroom resources, setting up activities, and maintaining a safe space - Supporting children’s learning through a range of activities and use of scaffolds - Lunchtime/breaktime supervision Additional Responsibilities May Include: - Recording basic pupil data - Helping with school trips and educational visits - Supporting pupils with basic ICT tasks - Assisting with dressing, eating, and hygiene when required Who We're Looking For: We welcome applications from candidates with: - Experience working with children (formal or informal) - A caring and patient nature, with a passion for education - Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff - An understanding of safeguarding and health & safety procedures (training provided) - NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential Holywell Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
