Job Opportunity: Senior Children's Residential Support Worker
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed individual to join a residential service in Merthyr Tydfil, supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We seek an enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated person eager to make a positive impact on young people's lives, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.
Note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a full driver's license.
* Salary: £32,090 - £36,313 (including sleep allowance)
* Location: Merthyr Tydfil
* Hours: Full-time, Permanent
* Shift Pattern: 9am - 11pm with sleep shift from 11pm - 7am, and 7:30am start

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead by example and support shift management
* Mentor and support newer staff members
* Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop responsibility
* Maintain a welcoming, homely environment
* Manage challenging behaviours appropriately
* Safeguard children and young people's health and welfare
* Support independence and well-being of residents
* Ensure safety and adhere to care plans and guidelines
* Build positive relationships with staff, families, social workers, and other professionals
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People (ESSENTIAL)
* Experience in healthcare or social care settings (ESSENTIAL)
* Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People (ESSENTIAL)
