Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Graduate CAD Designer / Project Manager for our client based in Lanarkshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate with CAD skills and a passion for project management to join our client’s project department. The successful candidate will be involved in preparing detailed CAD drawings while supporting the delivery of client projects from initial scope to completion. This varied role offers excellent scope for development, allowing the individual to gain hands-on experience managing projects and working closely with clients and internal teams.
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a Graduate CAD Designer / Project Manager to join their expanding team. The role will focus on preparing technical drawings and supporting the successful delivery of multiple projects. This role will develop into working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, the individual will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing CAD drawings and technical designs in line with project requirements.
Adding new projects to the internal job management system.
Assisting in defining project scope, objectives, and ensuring technical feasibility.
Developing and maintaining detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
Coordinating schedules, resources, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to site.
Liaising with suppliers to place orders and ensure on-site delivery meets project deadlines.
Providing regular project updates and preparing status reports for senior management.
Managing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, and third-party vendors.
Overseeing and coordinating tasks across departments to ensure project compatibility.
Maintaining comprehensive project documentation and creating project performance reports.
Supporting the wider team by developing spreadsheets, process maps, and project-related documentation.
Continuously developing leadership skills and attending training as required.
Undertaking other duties to support the successful completion of projects.
Skills & Experience:
Experience in a CAD-based role is desirable but not essential; recent graduates with relevant placement or internship experience will be considered.
Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD, with the ability to produce technical drawings accurately.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive approach with problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
Offering:
Salary £25k-£30k DOE
Hours Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (1hour lunch)
