Job Overview
We are seeking motivated nurses with a passion for excellence within the delivery of patient care to join our General Medical team on Ward 3C. As a Staff Member on Ward 3C, you will have opportunities to care for a range of patients with various conditions.
As the specialty of General Medical, we now provide true 7-day working supported by our multidisciplinary team of Health Care Assistants, Nurses, 3 Consultants, and Nurse Specialists. All disciplines work closely with one another to ensure our teams are fully supported.

Main Duties of the Job
* To be responsible, in association with the team leader, for the formulation and implementation of individual patient care plans.
* To participate in the holistic assessment of patients, formulate and review individual patient care plans, and act as ‘named nurse’ or associate for a group of patients from admission to discharge as determined by the Ward Manager.
* To commence and participate in research/special projects as directed by the ward manager.
* To contribute to the setting, maintaining, and monitoring of standards of care within the ward.
* Help ensure that all equipment is in safe working order in conjunction with the department equipment controller.
* Internal rotation onto night duty and twilight shifts is required.
* To assist in the promotion of effective communication with all ward staff and other departments as required.
* To remain updated and fully comply with all Trust Infection Control policies.
* Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
* Maintain appropriate NMC registration.
* To be aware of and practice professionally in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and The Scope of Professional Practice.
* To personally ensure fulfillment of the requirements for professional updating and to maintain a personal record for future registration purposes.
* Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided, and consistent with clinical guidelines.
* Implement and evaluate programmes of care to meet the needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role.
* Knowledge of current professional & clinical issues.

* Significant post-registration experience within an acute hospital setting.
Qualifications
* Current NMC Registration.
* IV Drug Administration Certificate or Competencies.
