Our Strategic Asset Management Department is responsible for the centralised planning of Council’s Civil and Parks Asset Management programs, oversees many of Council’s assets including buildings, active and passive open space areas (including sporting fields, playgrounds, parks), roads, bridges, footpaths and drainage. The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and highly motivated leader to join our Strategic Asset Management team. Reporting to the Director Asset Services, this role is responsible for leading a team of professional staff to ensure the development of contemporary asset management policies, strategies and plans to ensure effective management of all Council assets. This includes the development of asset renewal, asset maintenance plans, budgets and processes to measure and monitor the performance of Council’s assets portfolio. To be suitable for the role, you will need to have demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholder groups; the ability to think strategically and work independently; strong organisational, interpersonal and relationship building skills; and a high level of oral and written communication skills. Essential Criteria: Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Environmental or other discipline related to this position Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and demonstrated experience in dealing with the community and stakeholders Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams with a commitment to high standards of performance Demonstrated extensive experience in strategic asset management including the development of Asset Policies, Strategies and Plans Demonstrated competence in the construction and maintenance of civil, building, and open space assets A current Class C Driver Licence.
