Job responsibilities To assist with undertaking comprehensive functional assessment using the principles ofApplied Behavioural Analysis. To support the development of Positive Behavioural Support Plans in partnership with theperson and key stakeholders. To ensure that Positive Behavioural Support Plans focus on improvements in quality of lifeas both an intervention and an outcome. To coach families and staff to develop their knowledge and skills on behaviouralinterventions and models of support To attend and contribute to review meetings. To contribute to reports which detail the assessments and interventions conducted. To ensure that people are treated with dignity and respect at all times. To seek consent and to ensure people are responded to in a manner which promotes theirbest interests. To maintain clear and comprehensive clinical records detailing direct work To work with the PBS Practitioner to deliver, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness ofPositive Behavioural Interventions. To communicate with people in a manner which promotes partnerships working such asconsultation, multi-disciplinary meetings and sharing of information in an appropriate andtimely manner. Respecting a persons need for information, level of understanding, background, andpreferred communication style. To anticipate barriers to communication and take positive action to overcome them suchas additional trainings where appropriate. To support people in a manner this reflects their wishes, preferences, and personalities,and involves the individual within the development of their plans etc. To work in partnership with family members to ensure that the needs of a family assupporters are considered at all times. To work with the PBS Team to identity operational difficulties and work creatively toresolve these. To contribute to mandatory training and bespoke packages in relation to PositiveBehavioural Support. To contribute to bespoke packages of training to aid in the implementation of positivebehavioural interventions. To work with the PBS Team and other key people to identify opportunities for servicedevelopment. To assist with service development initiatives in relation to Positive Behavioural Support. To work with the PBS Team, to undertake continuing professional development. To work with the PBS Team to evaluate own knowledge and skills to identify areas ofdevelopment. To keep up to date with national best practice about services for people with learningdisability and challenging behaviour. To work in accordance with the CARE values. To upload a high standard of work To have knowledge of Prevention of Discrimination (Guernsey) Ordinance 2022 To work in accordance with the States of Guernseys policies, procedures and standards. To attend and contribute to staff meetings as appropriate. To manage the security of confidential information in accordance with States of Guernsey policy. To contribute to the review of service policy, audit and procedures relating to supportingpeople who present challenging behaviour. To take all possible steps to safeguard the welfare and safety of service-users, colleaguesand self, in accordance with Health and Safety at Work (General Ordinance, Guernsey1987). To follow appropriate moving and handling techniques in the work area whilstmaintaining health, safety and security of others. To comply with principles contained in the Data Protection Law (Bailiwick of Guernsey2001). To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time bymanagement.
