To work closely with the Food and Beverage and Kitchen teams in running the food and beverage operation for the golf course; manages co-workers, budget, and activities of the food and beverage outlets; and develops revenue and expense plans to maximise sales and profitability while maintaining excellence in quality and customer relations.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
1. Management of all food and beverage service areas
2. Liaises with kitchen team, co-ordinating to achieve and ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Ensures that co-workers meet all standards for performance, appearance and service provision.
4. Ensures that all policies and procedures related to the operation of the Food and Beverage department are enforced and implemented.
5. Manages and maintains purchasing system ensuring all invoices are managed effectively.
6. Reviews all bookings for catered activities, ie: functions, meetings, golf societies, weddings and ensure all appropriate preparation is made in advance.
7. Solicits and handles customer enquiries, comments, suggestions and concerns to provide answers or determine solutions.
8. Creates and develops menus and prices, in conjunction with Chef, and ensures recipe cards are completed to ensure minimum cost of sales and maximum profit.
9. Responsible for controlling food, beverage, and labour costs by accurately estimating needs for supplies and staffing.
10. Completes various financial reports and budgets including club banking and reporting.
11. Identifies new market opportunities and maximises sales potential through marketing of the Clubs various Food and Beverage services and events, including flyers, posters, social media, newspaper, telephone soliciting, brochures, promotional events, etc.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. This role demands a flexible approach with the requirement to operate from a management strategic level to hands on. As a key focal point for members and visitors, you will need to be visible and be prepared to work some evenings and weekends.
2. The ideal candidate should have a strong customer service ethic, be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. They should be well planned and organised, an interest in golf or experience within the industry would be advantageous.
3. Minimum of 2 years operational experience at head of department or similar management position.
