About The Role
We are currently looking for a proactive individual to fulfil a crucial role in our support staff within our Residential Conveyancing Team. This team deals with mostly local sales, purchases and transfers on behalf of existing and new clients. The team does not deal with volume panel conveyancing and instead receives recommendations from existing clients and other departments within the firm.
Based in our Wye Valley (Ross-on-Wye) Office and reporting to a Conveyancer, the Legal Assistant role objective is to provide in-depth business support to the fee earners within the team, including the following responsibilities:
* Drafting and formatting of letters, documents, and forms such as sale contracts and exchange and completion letters.
* Conduct searches (Local Authority, Land Registry, Insolvency, Compliance Regulation).
* Being a first point of contact for any administrative and business support requirements for fee earners, anticipating the team's needs where possible.
* Supporting the file opening process for the team.
* Assisting with the preparation of all financial transactions as required, including new matter quotes.
* Filtering client and agent queries, at times being the first point of contact for clients.
Joining our Residential Conveyancing team gives you access to a career pathway as a Licensed Conveyancer via the CLC qualification. Individuals can enrol on the Level 4 CLC apprenticeship and if successful progress onto the Level 6 CLC apprenticeship whilst in a fee-earning conveyancing role. Accessing these qualifications requires a minimum of 12 months service and a career development plan with a sponsoring Partner.
