Purpose Statement:
Join our dynamic UK Engineering team at Plexus Livingston site as a Test Engineer. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to impact our projects, advance your career, and contribute to the ongoing success of Plexus.
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical direction on test and inspection equipment, supporting test processes, and ensuring the successful implementation and validation of test equipment at our site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
2. Lead the introduction of testing for new customers and products.
3. Support test quote requests based on the RFQ process.
4. Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for testing.
5. Lead test acceptance and yield improvement processes.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Experience in the lifecycle support of electronic product testing solutions in Aerospace/Defence, Medical, and Industrial sectors.
2. Background in Contract Electronics Manufacturing is a strong advantage.
3. Degree or master's in electronics engineering or a related field preferred; HNC minimum with relevant experience.
4. Self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
5. Ability to interface directly with customers on technical matters related to electronic product testing.
6. Contribution to the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, including FMEA and Control Plans.
7. Conducting test acceptance for both customer-provided and Plexus-developed test solutions.
8. Defining and supporting calibration and preventative maintenance processes.
9. Validating test systems/fixtures for compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 standards.
10. Performing failure analysis and yield improvement actions on PCBAs and complete end products.
11. Utilizing problem-solving techniques like 8D corrective action.
12. Providing practical manufacturing requirements input to regional test development projects.
13. Exposure to programming and scripting languages such as NI TestStand/LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C++, and Python.
14. Experience with boot code programming, firmware deployment, flash device programming, and serial communications.
15. Using electronic test and measurement instruments and automated test solutions, including DVMs, PSUs, oscilloscopes, power meters, and network analyzers, (RF testing experience is a plus)
