Salary: Scale D - Starts at £24,921 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £27,351 per annum
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this.Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale.

The role of vetting researcher is to interrogate, research and analyse intelligence/information, using the Force, National and other bespoke information systems in relation to individuals requiring vetting including applicants to the force, current staff, contractors, volunteers and non-police personnel.
The researcher will evaluate, assess and analyse sensitive and confidential information and prepare vetting files submitted to the Force Vetting Officer with pertinent information for consideration and decision. Where no contentious issues are identified the post holder will grant vetting clearance.
The post holder will provide administrative support to the team including managing incoming queries by email and telephone and will be required to maintain contact with other vetting agencies and organisations for the purpose of intelligence gathering and maintain comprehensive records of the Forces and National Security vetting decisions and other enquiries.
