The primary responsibility of the lab is to inspect R&D and manufacturing parts for various engineering projects within the company. This includes visual inspections of cables, inspections using handheld tools, and comprehensive inspections of prismatic parts using state-of-the-art Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Creating bespoke fixturing setups for CMM inspections and generating detailed inspection reports are essential tasks. These reports, along with trending data, support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes at Randox and provide valuable R&D insights for future product designs. Location: Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4FL Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent. Working Hours / Shifts: 7.50am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.50am to 1.50pm on a Friday. What does the Production Operator role involve? The role of Production Operator will be working alongside the metrology engineers to operate the analysers/ measuring machines in the metrology department. Key duties: Procurement, validation, set up and maintenance of metrology and measurement systems/equipment Conduct data trend analysis to identify short and long range patterns so that recommendations can be made to bring continuous improvement, to satisfy customer requirements Ensure that all lab equipment is correctly calibrated through auditing, managing and scheduling the calibration of inspection and equipment through external vendors. Maintain documentation in line with internal procedures Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean operations Aid in troubleshooting technical problems that arise in the metrology process Identify ways on continuously improving metrology efficiency Maintaining awareness on new systems and technologies that could be of benefit in the metrology department Who can apply? Essential criteria: Be qualified to GCSE level in English and Maths. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to troubleshoot issues and identity root causes Have the right to work in the UK.
