What’s the Job?
We are looking for a talented individual to join Dumfries and Galloway College’s Commercial Department on a fixed 12-month contract. This is a new role and is part of the Business Development Team.
The role will be pivotal to supporting the College to achieve the commercial income targets through unlocking funding through bids and tenders. The team member will be responsible for identifying opportunities to secure funding to deliver training regionally and beyond. They will write bids and proposals and ensure delivery and compliance with all funding requirements.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent candidate for the role. You will lead a small team to ensure that all quality standards, contract, and compliance requirements are met and to identify funding sources. Submit professional bids to secure funding and work with partners within and out with the College, including industry, to ensure supply and demand are matched.
You will be attentive to detail to maintain adequate records to ensure compliance and reporting requirements across multiple funding streams. You will be accurate and diligent in work processes to ensure you meet the requirements of funders. In addition, you are required to have strong written skills aligned to bid writing and performance reporting. An excellent communicator while confident, confidential and professional. As well as organised.
To succeed in the role, you will have some or all of the following:
1. SCQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent (minimum HNC)
2. Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
3. Solid experience with CRM software and MS Office (particularly MS Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerBI).
4. Experience of developing and writing bids is essential.
5. Experience of using Public Contracts Scotland to secure work.
6. Strong customer service/ organisation/ teamworking/ relationship building skills.
7. Good/ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Adaptability to evolving digital opportunities and willingness to continuously improve digital competencies.
9. Hybrid Working will be considered.
10. Proficiency in digital skills relevant to the role, including experience using MS Office and any job-specific software/systems.
