Family Court Advisor (QSW) - Cafcass Public and Private Law
Cafcass Essex requires a Qualified Social Worker to join their team - Public and Private Law - work after the first hearing.
Minimum Requirements: Suitable candidates must have a degree in social work and at least 2-3 years post qualification experience working in a Children Team that ideally involved court work.
Cafcass is the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service. Cafcass usually gets involved in child proceedings once you or your former partner have submitted an application to the court. The role of Cafcass is to safeguard and promote the welfare of children by considering their needs, wishes, and feelings in child cases. The court usually asks Cafcass advisors to work with families and advise the family court of the interests, needs, wishes, and feelings of a child.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and submit Section 7 reports as requested by the court to assist in reaching decisions concerning child welfare.
2. Conduct interviews with children and parents to gather necessary information for reports.
3. Compile Section 37 reports when the court has concerns regarding a child's welfare.
4. Work collaboratively with local authorities and other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
