Job Overview:
We are seeking a professional and experienced Head Waiter/Waitress to lead our front-of-house team. The Head Waiter/Waitress is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining smooth dining operations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the greeting and seating of guests, ensuring smooth and prompt service throughout the dining experience.
* Ensure that orders are taken accurately and delivered promptly, while maintaining high standards of food presentation and service.
* Lead by example, providing hands-on support during busy periods, including taking orders, serving food, and addressing guest inquiries.
* Train and mentor waiting staff, providing guidance on service standards, customer interaction, and menu knowledge.
* Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house.
* Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring the dining room is properly prepared before service and cleaned after service.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable dining area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring equipment.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Head Waiter/Waitress or in a similar supervisory role in a high-volume restaurant or fine dining establishment.
* Strong knowledge of food service operations and high-end service standards.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with guests and staff.
* Ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems in a calm and professional manner.
* A keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience.
* Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine pairing and dietary considerations, is preferred.
