We are looking for an experienced Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing Tax team in our Borehamwood office. The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients. You’ll also be responsible for providing US and UK individual tax advisory and compliance services to US connected individuals. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Taking ownership for financial management of the portfolio, WIP management, billing targets and cash collection
2. Participate in developing and pursuing new clients including preparing for, attending meetings and drafting follow up correspondence
3. Document and communicate workflow status to Manager on a regular basis
4. Ensure all jobs are completed within specific budgets, keeping Manager informed at all times of progress of job
5. Ensure timesheets are completed and submitted weekly
6. Ensure WIP levels are kept within set budgets and advise Manager of potential budget over runs
7. Ensure productivity level meets or exceeds budget expectation
8. Draft Bills for clients and submit to Manager for approval
9. Assist junior staff in developing their understanding of the various software packages, tax laws and statutory requirements
10. Supervising junior members of staff with an active role to maximise their performance and during the annual staff appraisal process
11. Keep abreast of developments in accounting, taxation and relevant computer software
12. Attend all allocated internal and external training sessions as required
Personal Requirements

1. At least 5 seasons’ experience with US and UK personal tax compliance
2. Experience of review and signing US and UK income tax returns
3. Management / coaching of junior members of staff
4. Experience with CCH ProSystem and UK tax preparation software
5. Enrolled Agent, ATT
6. Experience working with US and UK tax rules and efficiently managing the interaction between the two tax regimes
7. Knowledge and experience with corporates and trusts (preferred by not essential)
8. Experience of signing US tax returns
9. Supervision of junior staff in gathering information for completion of US and UK tax returns
10. Good problem-solving skills to address client issues
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills between clients, staff and management
12. Advanced computer operational skills
13. Organised and with a high level of time management skills and solid attention to detail
14. Experience working with CCH and Virtual Cabinet
15. The ability to work with prestigious clients who require complete confidentiality
16. Knowledge and experience with trusts advantageous but not essential
17. Team player and promoter of a positive working culture among the team members
