Our Opportunity
We’re looking to recruit a Finance Assistant (Operational Data), to join our Finance team here in Sidcup. This is a Hybrid role working between home and office (2 days per week in the office and one working from home). Some travel may also be required across the Trust's Academies.
As the Finance Assistant (Operational Data), you will provide day-to-day support across the academy finance team, undertaking cash and banking administration and related queries, as well as supporting the smooth running of the TKAT Trust wide inter academy process.
We’re a busy, fast-paced team, so you’ll need to hit the ground running! Ideally you’ll be working towards your AAT qualification, or have the practical experience of having worked in a similar role for the last 2 years. As an outward-facing member of the finance team, you must possess fantastic communication skills, be proactive and resilient to the day-to-day challenges of education finance.

Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out regular reviews of trust wide income and expenditure to ensure transactions have been posted accurately, consistently and in line with Trust guidance.
* Working with the Senior Finance Assistant (Operational Data) to carry out regular reviews of trust wide balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate adjustments have been made where appropriate and with a particular focus on timely accrual, deferred income and prepayment adjustments.
* Coordinating and completing the full month end processes, to Trial balance level, on the TKAT HQ database(s) (e.g DFC), ensuring that full balance sheet reconciliations are completed and appropriately evidenced.
* Maintaining the DFC Projected Spend Tracker liaising with the relevant corporate colleagues around project phasing information required to inform the cashflow.
* Preparing the DFC cash flow forecast at key reporting periods for review by the Finance Manager (Operational Data).
* Processing all mid-year indicative returns and year-end Annex G certificates for review by the Finance Manager (Operational Data). Also work with the Trust’s external auditors as and when required to ensure a timely process.
Ideal Candidate
* AAT qualified or equivalent practical experience.
* Excellent written and verbal skills.
* Data handling including numerical data.
* PC literate (Google suite preferred).
* Experience of working in education (desirable but not essential).
