Due to continued growth and expansion across the Western Region, Backhouse are now looking to further strengthen their Technical team with the addition of an experienced Civil Engineer/Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager, reporting to the Technical and Commercial Dirctor s ector.

Engineering Manager – About you:
~ A working knowledge of both house and apartment construction, building regs, NHBC requirements etc
~ Ability to drive a consultant team to achieve the deadlines required whilst not compromising on quality
~ Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial
~ Ideally experience within a housing developer and a related consultancy
~ Have requisite IT skills (Word, Excel, AutoCad and Outlook)
Engineering Manager – About the role:
Instruct and interpret site investigations, topos, utility designs, foundation designs etc
Assist in the process of timely discharge of building regulations and planning conditions
Liaise and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, utility providers and external consultants
Ensure that civils working drawings are in accordance with the approved planning permission
Attend subcontractor prestart meetings and reviews as and when required
