Currently partnering with an organisation in West Sussex who are looking to appoint a Principal Registered Building Inspector on an interim basis. See responsibilities below: To lead as the principal technical professional on Building Control matters, to deliver a professional Building Control service Where appropriate and within limits of competence to provide supervision and management of the work of others within the Building Control team e.g. trainees, other registered buildings inspectors not having the appropriate band of competence To contribute to leading and developing other professional staff working towards additional classes through the registration framework To assist in allocating, monitoring and reviewing Building Control casework, to ensure an efficient workload across the team and to make sure that the decisions and recommendations made are accurate and in line with regulatory standards and best practice To lead on enforcement activity for unauthorised and non-compliant building works, to ensure that non-compliance can be prosecuted effectively as required To contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures relating to Building Control, informed by policies and operational experience of what works and what doesn't, to ensure that building control policies can be applied successfully To assist with ensuring accurate records of all inspections and associated work carried out by the team are maintained, so that all information is accessible and auditable, and can be used in legal proceedings if required Person Specification: Qualifications: Member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB, or equivalent. Registered as a minimum CLASS 2F for inspections and plan checking Experience: Extensive experience in Building Control, including complex casework. Proven experience in supervising and developing professional staff. Experience leading enforcement activities and legal proceedings
