Job Title: Financial Controller - Europe, Middle East, Turkey & Central Asia

Purpose of Role:
The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and reporting of the Europe, Middle East and Central Asia business, and for ensuring high levels of financial governance and control are maintained across the business.
Responsibilities:
Includes month end and statutory reporting, developing and ensuring compliance with financial policy and controls, ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations, maintaining an active approach to managing balance sheet risk, and controlling and overseeing all aspects of accounting in the business.
The Financial Controller will lead a team of people spread geographically across the business, and so needs to be both technically capable and have strong leadership skills with experience of people and team development.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Controlling:
1. Monitor and control financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
2. Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements.
3. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, local statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
4. Manage treasury and cash across the business.
5. Manage FX risk through effective hedging and Balance Sheet management.
6. Oversee 'Order to Cash' and 'Procure to Pay' activities of our shared service centre.
Financial Reporting:
1. Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports.
2. Monitor and control operational expenditures and capital investments to ensure alignment with budgets and financial objectives.
3. Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports for financial and business stakeholders.
4. Manage intercompany transactions and ensure reconciliation and elimination for group consolidation.
Audit & Compliance:
1. Oversee indirect tax compliance and reporting across the business.
2. Oversee compliance with local banking regulations.
3. Manage regulatory reporting, including filing of VAT returns and statutory accounts.
4. Lead the internal and external audit processes, ensuring all necessary documentation, explanations, and reconciliations are provided to auditors.
5. Oversee controls testing and compliance across the business.
Team Leadership & Support:
1. Develop an optimized and high performing finance and accounting function to support the needs of the business.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
* Professional Certification preferred.
* Previous experience of working at Financial Controller level in a complex multi-jurisdiction business is essential.
* Excellent understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulatory requirements.
* Expertise in financial analysis and reporting with the ability to read and interpret financial reports.
* Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software (preferably SAP).
