Based in Co Down, our client is a well established engineering business who, due to continued business success, have a need for an additional Production Manager to oversee production processes and operations.
The successful Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient production workflows, maintaining high standards of quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee daily production operations to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing processes.
* Establish current capacity levels, set targets, provide daily/weekly reports
* Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting production targets.
* Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address any issues or delays.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with quality control team to maintain high standards of product quality.
* Lead and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
* Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure smooth operations
* Staff Recruitment & retention, sourcing labourer’s / skilled operatives / Material planners and supervisors
* Analyse production data and generate reports for senior management.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
* Lean Manufacturing, input lean manufacturing process, to automate and streamline our process, reduce handling and down time.
Criteria:
· Proven significant experience in a production or operations management role within a fabrication setting
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
· Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Third level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management is desirable.
Salary is in the region of £60k dependant upon experience. The role comes with a range of benefits including pension and life assurance.
