In this role you will lead and inspire a successful global Front end BOM Operations team as well as leading supplier management in high commodity materials such as chemicals, gases, precious metals and silicon each used for our production process. What you will do
As a Senior Procurement Operation Manager based in on our site here in Manchester UK or Hamburg Germany you will lead and inspire the front-end manufacturing BOM Operations Team by providing clear direction and fostering a collaborative and high performing culture globally. This position provides you with an opportunity to make a big impact on the procurement strategy of high commodity materials that are essential in our manufacturing process.
Your responsibilities include:
Project Management
* Oversee all savings projects within Front end manufacturing BOM, ensuring the attainment of savings targets
* Provide clear information, priorities, and targets to the team for focused execution
* Offer support in the event of project escalations
Supply Chain Optimization
* Collaborate with the Strategy team to leverage allocations for achieving cost savings
* Ensure seamless supply of Front end BOM materials, identifying and mitigating potential supply chain risks
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with the Research and Development (R&D) team to support the development of new technologies
* Collaborate on internal ad-hoc activities with Finance, Material Management, and External Manufacturing teams as needed
Supplier Performance Improvement
* Develop and implement strategies to enhance supplier performance
* Clearly communicate expectations to suppliers regarding quality standards, delivery schedules, and other performance metrics
* Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessment
* Work with suppliers to identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain
Reporting and Presentation
* Generate reports and prepare presentations for the Management Team
* Provide regular updates on project status and key performance indicators
What you will need
* Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a global and fast paced procurement environment
* Proven team lead or management experience
* Procurement experience in an industrial environment, ideally in Automotive, Semiconductor or Chemical industry
* Experience in Supply Chain Management and project oversight
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as stakeholder management skills
* Excellent English language skills, proficiency in German is desirable but not essential
* Willingness to travel occasionally
