In a nutshell
As our PR Executive, you will be at the forefront of Virgin Atlantic's media relations efforts. You will ensure the smooth running of our press office, manage high-profile media relationships, and support the delivery of strategic communications. This is a role for someone passionate about storytelling, adept at navigating the fast-paced world of media, and ready to protect and enhance our brand reputation.
Acting as the first point of contact for media, you'll oversee key partnerships and organise impactful media events, all while keeping the business informed of industry developments. From driving positive coverage to managing crisis communications, you'll play a vital part in Virgin Atlantic's ambition to become the most loved travel company.
Day to day
1. Serve as the first point of contact for all media inquiries regarding Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays.
2. Lead the daily operation of the press office, ensuring timely and effective responses to media queries.
3. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media influencers, and key external partners.
4. Organise and accompany media on overseas travel trips, ensuring seamless execution.
5. Support proactive PR campaigns, from news releases to leadership profiling and thought leadership initiatives.
6. Play a central role in crisis communication response plans, including on-call responsibilities.
7. Monitor and analyse media performance, competitor activity, and industry trends to provide actionable insights.
8. Maintain and update press office systems, including media monitoring and distribution platforms.

We're looking for someone with the following:
1. Educated to degree level.
2. Proven experience in PR or Marketing, preferably at a high-profile brand.
3. Strong understanding of the UK media landscape, both traditional and social.
4. Demonstrated ability to maintain and leverage media relationships to deliver impactful results.
5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
6. The ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
7. A collaborative approach, working effectively with diverse teams across global markets.
