Are you passionate about Mental Health / Learning Disabilities and looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others? Do you have a strong desire to work alongside Clinical Psychologists in a supportive role? If so, we have the perfect job for you!
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Workers to join our team and assist our Clinical Psychologists in providing top-quality care to the individuals we support. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with skilled professionals in the field, gaining invaluable experience and making a real difference to people’s lives.
Some of the individuals we support have a forensic history or present a current forensic risk and can at times show behaviours of distress.
Our individuals require a bespoke level of support from a staff team that are committed to making a positive difference to their lives. Your role will be to support them - empowering them to do, rather than doing for them. This could be in their home, with daily living skills, or out & about.
Some days might be tougher than others for the individuals you support and therefore you will need to adapt to their needs, be a positive role model and help them to safely manage any risks in a therapeutic way. The aim is to enable individuals to have meaningful and fulling lives – this is not a boring 9-5 job, nor is it just an ordinary Support Worker job as each day will be different and you will be learning about how to psychologically understand the causes of certain behaviours and to promote healthier choices. We see the person in total rather than the behaviour in isolation.
You can be part of our team! You will be fully trained to understand and meet the individual needs of the person you support and have input from our highly skilled Positive Support Team who specialise in understanding the roots of behaviours of distress.
We offer a full paid induction, training tailored to the needs of the individual and buddy/coaching by an experienced member of the team – all we ask is that you have the passion to make a real difference, are driven by inclusion, have a caring nature, and want to empower others to reach their goals and dreams.
