The Medical Division at Whipps Cross Hospital is actively seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Nurse to join its team in the role of Matron.
The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be within the ward areas with some outpatient activity to support. The Division provides a wide variety of services which include Frailty, Older people services, End of life care, Respiratory, cardiology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine and Stroke,
As a Matron, you will play a key role in maintaining clinical quality and ensuring that clinical governance standards are upheld. You will also have responsibility for nurturing and developing the nursing Team to maximise its potential and focussing on strategies to maintain and improve staff well-being.
Applicants should have held leadership roles from which they can evidence delivering high quality, patient-centred care.

Ensure the delivery of exceptional patient centred and safe care to patients across the directorate.
Be responsible for leading professional nursing in an inclusive, compassionate and caring culture for all staff and teams, always maintaining public confidence in the division’s services.
Be a role model and advocate for compassionate and people-focused leadership, making sure that Team leaders are engaged and empowered.
Be part of the senior nursing structure within the medical division and contribute to the overall upholding of all safety standards, efficiency and quality metrics and national standards.
