We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a small, specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting in Dunstable that offers specialsed education for students aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Students may have a range of diagnoses, including Autism, ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder, Anxiety, SLCN and other mild to moderate learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons across a range of subjects.
- Provide support and differentiation to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a calm and positive learning environment.
- Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with school policies.
- Contribute to improving student progress and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a SEND or SEMH setting.
- Understanding of the challenges associated with SEMH and a passion for supporting vulnerable students.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Team Teach trained (preferred but not essential).
- A strong commitment to promoting the values and ethos of the school.
