Job Role: School Crossing Patrol Officer
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community safely cross the road at a designated point between specified times.
No formal qualifications are necessary, but the ability to cope in all weather conditions, good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code, and previous experience working with children are desirable.
It is essential that you can attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including short notice in case of unscheduled school closures.
Working hours are mainly: 08:15 am to 09:10 am and 2:50 pm to 3:25 pm.

Salary and Benefits:
You will earn a competitive salary of £22,525.71 pro rata and have access to various benefits, including:

The Person:
Training in safe crossing procedures will be provided. You will need to complete an annual Occupational Health Surveillance Questionnaire and attend any necessary Occupational Health Assessments.
Pre-employment requirements: You must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership for working with Children through Disclosure Scotland before confirming your appointment.
Induction training will be provided before starting in the role.
