My client are looking for a credit controller to help cover until they recruit for a permanent role. Day-to-day of the role: Handle credit control tasks including issuing monthly customer statements, and managing communications through letters and phone calls. Manage sales invoice processing via EDI and customer portals. Address debit notes received, managing approvals, and processing credit notes. Liaise with the customer service team, account managers, and agents/sales reps regarding potential issues and debit notes management; arrange regular meetings to address these. Conduct credit checks for new account applications and set credit limits for new and existing customers using online services, advising of any issues. Maintain records of credit control notes and report monthly to the manager. Prepare monthly sales agents and reps commission statements for the UK, Europe, and USA. Analyse monthly credit notes and accounts receivables. Process payments received via cheque, BACS, and card in multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, USD), including processing refunds. Provide support and cover to the team during holidays, busy periods, or projects. Adapt to changing business needs and take on new tasks as the role evolves. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an FMCG environment. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with essential Excel skills. Knowledge of VAT and international exports (FOB/Ex-works/DDP). Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Organised and accurate, with the ability to prioritise effectively. Proactive problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude, agile to change and challenges. High energy levels and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. An interest in Party, Homewares, Gift, Beauty, Fashion, or Accessories is beneficial. The hours are 9-5.30pm fully in the office. There may be potential for a permanent role.
