Job Title: Digital Multimedia Transcriber - HC620523
Location: Basingstoke/Southampton/Portsmouth (Office based)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Monday 5th May 2025 at 23.59 hours
Are you someone who enjoys highly detailed work, has the ability to work on your own initiative, is willing to take ownership of your work, and is resilient?
If so, then you could be the person we are looking for to join our small team who transcribe suspect interviews, victims' first accounts, and 999 calls. Although you are part of a team, much of the work is carried out on your own as you will be watching and listening to recordings, which can contain highly sensitive material, in order to pick out the relevant information needed to support cases that Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Constabulary are taking to Crown Court.
Your primary task will be transcribing; however, you will also be booking in and logging the recordings, as well as liaising with police officers and the imaging department to ensure that they are received in the appropriate format and that the images are clear.
If this type of work interests you and you would like to help HIOWC provide justice for victims of crime, then we would love to hear from you.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
2. Experience of working in a busy administrative environment, undertaking complex administrative tasks to a high standard.
3. Experience of managing sensitive information and/or scenarios which require resilience in order to resolve.
4. Experience of dealing with both confidential and sensitive information.
